Music fuels my workouts, period. That being said, finding the perfect delivery system can be challenging – since aforementioned delivery system needs to compliment the workout I’m doing. When I talk about delivery systems, I’m of course talking about my headphones/earphones/ear buds, etc. Rocking my world – literally – of late is the Trekz Titanium, by AfterShokz.
Let’s talk about annoying things that ear buds can do first, shall we? If they have wires (ewww!), said wires tether you to your device and tangle/snap/break. If they don’t fit you perfectly, then long-term wear starts to hurt and/or they fall out. If they aren’t for fitness, they’ll inevitably break when you mix sweat into the equation. All in all, a lot of things can go wrong. In the case of AfterShokz however, a lot of things go right. Not only are all of these problems eliminated, but they are also safer to use than your standard-issue buds/headphones, because they sit ON your cheekbone, and not IN your ear. Pretty handy, considering I’ve been taking my runs outside of late. Hearing my surroundings means I don’t end up roadkill.
On top of all of that, quite frankly, they are pretty cool. AfterShokz utilizes bone conduction tech, which delivers sound to the brain via mini vibrations to the inner ear. If that isn’t neat, I don’t know what it will take to impress you.
