Well folks, it has been quite some time since we’ve seen a Fragrance Friday feature here on KFB – huh? We are back now though, and I am definitely feeling the love in the olfactory department. This week’s Fragrance Friday feature is Alaïa Paris Eau de Parfum – a scent from a French fashion house that was love at first sniff for me.
Inspired by the designer’s childhood memories of growing up in Tunisia, Alaïa is a cool floriental (a blend of floral & oriental notes) scent – and a study in contrast. It opens with airy notes and pink pepper, which soon give way to a floral heart of freesia and peony. At its core lies flowers, placed at the base are ‘animalistic tones’ of leather and musk.
Just looking at the designer’s clothing line, and the bit of inspiration in the image above, you get a feel for sleek, sexy, modern sophistication. The bottle is a contemporary shape, with beautiful etchings.
All in all – I am very impressed with the look, feel, and of course scent of Alaïa‘s first foray into fragrance. You can find Alaïa both online, and at a department store near you. It comes in an EDP spray, candle, shower gel, body lotion and body cream.
