Unruly Brows and Short Lashes Gone in the Blink of an Eye- Blink Brow Bar at Saks Review

When it comes to that unruly strip of hair above my eyes, wild is the word that comes to mind. I am a woman determined, doing battle (and most often losing) with the unruly caterpillars  that I call eyebrows. They are naturally bushy, naturally coarse, and naturally a pain in the tuchus.

Enter the newest brow and lash bar on my radar, Blink Brow Bar, located inside the Saks Fifth Avenue store in NYC.

Blink Brow Bar is a British export, and practically an institution over the pond. Offering up everything from brow shaping via threading, to brow tints, and even lash extensions, Blink is truly a one-stop beauty shop when it comes to all things facial hair.

Trust me when I say that Sam, my technician had a real mess on her hands when I arrived at the fifth floor salon pop-up at Saks. Sporting three weeks of eyebrow growth, I was looking less woman and more wookie. We had a brief chat regarding my brow shape, the shortened state of my lashes, what I was looking for, and how we would get there. I then lay back in the cushy chair with the bright lights shining, and a renewed hope that my brows and wimpy lashes could indeed be saved.

We started with brow shaping, and Sam wielded that thread like a pro, quickly and efficiently sculpting and shaping my brows. In about 10 minutes, I had a new set of brows that I was most definitely loving. We then moved on to a half set of lash extensions, a process that took about 40 minutes, and left me with a flirtatious flutter that was beautifully subtle and most definitely noticeable.

The obligatory before/after shot.

I have watched your blog and your physical transformation to body builder/beautiful body. I am so amazed at your forittude. Then you got married. I haven’t heard your blog for so long but I wish you all the best and happiness. You are so determined and so successful. In love we have not much control. I have gotten divorced after 15 years that truly threw me for a loop although I should have seen how other things took my place in my husband’s life. I wish you happiness, self-reliance no matter what, and keep on jogging along. All the best to you!
