Though the sugar be sweet, it needn’t be painful to the teeth

In life, I am a lover of many things. This includes, but is not limited to: putting myself through a good workout, getting dolled up and enjoying a night on the town, and of course, to eating yummy food (when I am not on my prep diet) as often as possible. Unfortunately for me, and much of the world’s population I may add, many of the yummiest foods out there trigger unhappy pangs in my teeth due to their heightened sensitivity caused by enamel wear and tear. My beloved fro-yo, hot coffee, and the sweetest desserts can leave me with unwanted dental pangs that can deter even the strongest of cravings. Enter the latest and greatest from dental innovator Crest – the Sensi-Stop Strip.

Crest Sensi-StopAt a recent press event, I had the opportunity to see the innovative new product firsthand, before it was to be released to the public. Essentially, Crest Sensi-Stop Strips are small, flexible, transparent strips (not unlike our beloved Crest Whitestrips) that when applied to sensitive areas alleviate pain and discomfort associated with sensitive teeth. They do this by sealing the openings that expose our dental nerves to pain-inducing stimuli like heat and cold, and work up to 30 days after application.

For those who love the science of beauty products as much as I do, here is a video on how they work:

I had a go with these strips this past Friday, and I must say that I am pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Ten minutes with these strips on yielded (and continues to yield) no pain for me, no matter what I consume. Good thing too, as my engagement party was this past Sunday, and it was definitely a time to consume many delicious things that normally cause discomfort for me.

You can find these strips in stores this fall, but in the meantime, feel free to stop by the Crest website, where you can preorder yours, today!
