Welcome to the second post in my three part bridal makeup series. This Ethereal bridal look is perfect for the woman who has a feminine style and is a true romantic at heart. Is your wedding dress soft and flowy with a modern fairy tale look? If so, then this look is for you.
Step 1: Complexion
Start off by applying your favorite moisturizer and eye cream. For this look I suggest using Laura Mercier’s oil-free foundation primer. Apply the primer all over your face with your foundation brush or clean fingertips. Apply an eyeshadow primer all over the lid to prevent your shadow from creasing. I used Nars Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base.
We want the complexion to have a fresh glow without looking greasy. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation is a great option and provides excellent coverage. Apply your foundation with a flat foundation brush all over the face. If dark circles are a concern for you and you would like to brighten the under eye area, try using Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste as your concealer. At this point it’s time for a makeup setting spray to set your makeup for your big day. For this look I used Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray. It helps to set and seal your foundation and concealer without affecting the finish of the makeup.
Step 2: The Eyes
The romantic eye is shimmery with a softly defined crease. We start by filling in a our brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. The Brow Wiz is great for filling and defining your natural brow shape without looking too heavy. I used the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette for this look because the soft rose gold tones are flattery on a wide variety of skin tones and are perfect for a romantic feminine look. I applied the color Trick on my lid from the lashline to just below my crease. I added the color Dust to the inner corners of my eye as a highlighter with the same brush I used to apply Trick. I used the color Factory on the outer edge of the eye and blended it up and into the crease and along the lower lashline. I then used Nooner to blend out the look and soften any sharp edges. I completed my eye look with the color Burnout as my brow highlighter. For this look we are skipping liner on the top lashline and only using a nude or white eyeliner on the water line to brighten the eye. I used the Rimmel ScandelEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal pencil in Nude. It was a spontaneous drugstore purchase and I love the way it makes my eyes look bigger and brighter like a doll. For lashes I used Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real Mascara in black.
Step 3: Lips and Cheeks
This look is not complete without a warm cheek color and nude lips. I used the Makeup Forever HD Second Skin Cream Blush. It gives a wash of color that looks natural and is long wearing. I applied it with foundation brush and then quickly blended it with my fingers. For my highlighter I used Hourglass Cosmetics Ambient Lighting Powder. I love this product because it gives your skin a light from within glow. I used a fantail brush to lightly apply it to my cheekbone on top of my cream blush. It order to get a the perfect nude lip I applied a tiny amount of concealer to my lips to neutralize my lip color and then applied Urban Decay Ultra Nourishing Gloss in Naked. Another great option for lips is Make Up For Ever Lab Shine Lipgloss.
