Great Skincare is Simple – Of Skincare Habits and a Giveaway

We all have them, though some are obviously better than others. I am talking about skincare habits, a.k.a the actions we take to ensure that our exteriors match our oh-so-lovely interiors. More specifically, let’s chat about a line that is no stranger to K.B.- Simple Skincare, and the Holistic Skincare Habits poll they took to Women across the top 40 cities, nationwide.  Make sure you read through the end of this post, by the way, to find out how you can enter to win a package including 6, full-sized Simple products, valued at over $50!

Simple Skincare

As previously mentioned, Simple is a line designed for those with sensitive skin. As someone with periodic eczema flair-ups, I can vouch both for the efficacy of the products, and their gentleness on my body’s largest organ. As someone who is always on-the-go and with a million things on my to-do list, products like the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes make it easy for me to wipe away the dirt and grime of the day, no matter the time or where I am. Bonus points to these wipes, by the way, for removing even my most stubborn makeup applications.

Speaking of cleansing, survey says that 27% report that the longest they’ve gone without washing their face is at least two days. When you think of all the grime that can accumulate on your skin (pollution, germs, and dead skin, oh my!), it’s a pretty staggering statistic.

Another fun fact uncovered – only one in two women (that’s half) know that working out actually improves skin health by increasing circulation and blood flow. It’s no secret that I am a fitness-loving kinda girl, and I think I can partially attribute the great condition of the skin I’m in to that fun fact.

Sure, it makes me buff- but engaging in regular exercise also keeps my skin looking pretty!

Being a city girl, I am certainly aware of all the dirt, grime, and germs that lurk in the environment, causing harm to my precious outer covering. I am also aware of the damage that free radicals and those no-good UV rays can wreak on skin that is left unprotected and uncared for. Survey says that 59% of women do not actively try to protect their skin from the elements, and with that in mind, I always make sure to apply a layer of SPF-infused moisturizer, like Simple’s Protecting Light Moisturizer with SPF 15, to ensure that my skin is not only well-protected, but also well well hydrated.

For those who are interested in all of the survey results, here they are:

Holistic Skincare Habits across the Country:

Nearly 9 in 10 (89%) women describe their skincare habits as “healthy,” yet their actual behaviors (a snapshot below) show there is room for improvement.
A Surprising Cleansing Calendar – More than a quarter (27%) report that the longest they’ve gone without washing their face is at least two days. Simple® makes implementing a cleansing regimen a cinch with gentle yet effective facial cleansers and wipes to remove grime and dirt that can clog pores and cause irritation.
Being Attentive to the Elements – Fifty-nine percent (59%) are not actively trying to protect skin from environmental elements such as the sun or wind. Women can apply Simple® Protecting Light Moisturizer with SPF 15 to help them prevent damage from sunburn (even on cloudy days).
A Serving of Glowing Skin – Though half (50%) claim they’re striving for a healthy diet specifically to keep skin in good shape, thousands of women are missing out on certain foods that could work wonders on skin, such as Brussels sprouts (68%), walnuts (62%), salmon (57%) and avocados (56%).
The (Skin) Effects of Stress – Sixty-three percent (63%) know that their stress level affects the health of their skin, yet more than half (53%) are not actively trying to reduce it right now. Making a dedicated effort to unplug and unwind can make skin less permeable to external factors like weather and makeup.
The Beauty Benefits of Working Out – One in two (50%) are unaware that exercise can influence their skin’s health. Exercise increases blood flow and helps flush cellular debris out of one’s system – contributing to the overall appearance of skin.
Simple® also uncovered which major markets are ahead of the curve when it comes to holistic skincare habits.
The majority (52%) of women in San Francisco are trying to eat skin-loving food that is organic, produced locally, or farm-to-table.
More than 6 in 10 (63%) women in Hartford (CT) are trying to limit the amount of time they spend using electronic devices.
It is most common for women in Grand Rapids (33%) and Detroit (32%) to ride bikes on at least a monthly basis.

As promised, I would love for one of you- my readers – to experience the awesome that is Simple Skincare for yourselves!

One of the things I try to do for my skin is drink lots of water. It seems like to me that my skin is at its best when I am hydrated. I also cleanse it regularly, both day and night.
