Fragrance Friday- Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classique

What happens when you take an intoxicating, aromatic liquid, and put it into a vial that is so unusual that it defines said liquid forever and ever? Why you get a uniquely wonderful fragrance experience, and a distinct scent memory, all at once. The whole concept of the fragrance holds you under its thrall, and never ever lets you go. Such is my experience with Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classique Fragrance for women. Allow me to elaborate.
Those who know fragrance will immediately gather an image in their mind’s eye upon my mentioning the Gaultier fragrance collection for women. Even my boyfriend chimed in when I mentioned it, saying “isn’t that the one in the bust?” Yes, in fact it is. Jean Paul Gaultier celebrates the female form with his classic scent, by placing it in a bottle modeled after a woman’s curves. The head is the spray nozzle, while the torso is the portion you hold as you spray the intoxicating liquid over selected points on your skin. Even better, Gaultier releases seasonal scents, with each bust being decorated appropriately for the season. Take summer, for instance, which is decorated with bright and beautiful flowers, almost as if the bust is wearing an exotic dress.
Now I know what you are all wondering- well, how does it smell? Like pure, unadulterated, sex appeal. Classique boasts a list of notes that include orange flower, bulgarian rose, italian mandarin, star aniseed, orchid, iris, ylang-ylang, indian ginger, soft vanilla, and woody amber. The intoxicating summer edition for 2012 is distinctly fresher and lighter, as you’d expect it to be, with hints of  clementine, rose, orange blossom, ylang-ylang, Sambac jasmine, lily of the valley white iris, amber, vanilla and fresh musk.
More than just a scent, Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classique is an all-around experience. No matter which edition you pick up, the contents inside those iconic busts are nothing short of scent-sationally memorable.
You can find the Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance lineup both at Sephora, and at a fine department store near you.
