Flat Iron Tips from Image Beauty

Flat Iron Tips

It’s been proven that one of the first thing a man notices about a girl is her hair. As for us ladies, it’s been proven that the majority of us hate our hair! We have to get up, shower, blow dry, straighten – all this for our hair to be just perfect! That’s why choosing the right flat iron for your hair is important. Do you go for ceramic, titanium, or tourmaline? How hot should it be? How about thickness? For the materials, you want to something that will add shine while not totally damaging your hair. Although many flat irons advertise 100% ceramic – very few actually are. They tend to break easily and it is much harder to manufacture. Tourmaline is a mineral that is ground up and often mixed in with ceramic, which is why you’ll see some straighteners called ceramic tourmaline. Titanium is newer to the scene but quite effective. It’s great for smoothing and conducts heat wonderfully. So what do you get when you combine all of these materials? A super hybrid. Nano titanium is a titanium plate with superfine particles like tourmaline. This helps your hair stay extremely smooth, straight, and shiny and can reduce straightening time by 40%!

As for heat, make sure to look for a flat iron that has multiple heat settings. The general rule is that the thicker your hair is, the hotter it must be to penetrate the strands. The thickness of the plate should correlate to hair length. If your hair is short, go for something smaller like ½ inch to 1 inch. If your hair is shoulder length, 1 ¼ to 1 ¾ will do. If your hair is long, you can for pretty much anything you like!

So far, the best straightener I’ve used is the Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium flat iron. I personally love how it heats up quickly and I can have my hair styled within 10 minutes. I have thick wavy hair and this flat iron has worked wonderfully for me! Then again, hair is unique. Make sure to read online reviews and learn from your experiences. Also, look for deals –whether you purchase from a mall kiosk or from a huge store like Sephora or even at online beauty retailers like Image Beauty – just be sure to do your research!
