The Science of Skincare, with Kate Somerville

Kate Somerville Skincare

Readers, have I ever told you all how much it thrills me to have the opportunity to go all science nerd here on Krasey Beauty? Myself completely and utterly fascinated with the technological advancements in the realm of skincare, I can’t help but obsess over cutting edge brands at the height of innovation. These are the brands that enter my beauty bubble, and grab a hold on me. What I am trying to say is, it is time for another installment of the science of skincare.

For quite some time, the Kate Somerville Skincare line has had a lot of buzz on the interwebs. It is for that very reason that I was both intrigued and elated when I saw Kate Somerville setup at that QVC Beauty Breakfast a short while back. Coming in with the expectation that I was in for a real treat, I devoted quite some time to learning about the range, browsing the product selections, and researching the science behind it all. Needless to say, I am thrilled that I did.

A complete and comprehensive skincare line founded by celebrity aesthetician Kate Somerville, the product’s and the results speak for themselves. Integrating skincare with medicine is what makes this line different, and a mind for overall skin health is what makes the line special. Without further adieu, the products!

Kate Somerville Skincare Cyto Cell Dermal Energizing Treatment

The Cyto Cell range is all about revitalization and regeneration. At the heart of the Cyto Cell range is something called Peptide P-199, a synthetic (man-made) peptide (protein) that stimulates activity in the stem cells (those are the multi-purpose cells that can do pretty much anything on a biological level), ultimately encouraging them to create brand new skin cells. All of that translates to fresh, youthful, radiant, healthy skin, on the whole. To me, it translates to the fact that in the past 3 weeks that I have been using the Cyto Cell Dermal Energizing Treatment, my skin has never looked so fresh.

Further contributing to the Cyto Cell party is the Dark Circle Corrective Eye Cream, a veritable gift from up above to this sleep deprived beauty gal. Like the Dermal Energizing Treatment, this eye cream contains P-199, to stimulate skin cell regeneration from stem cells. What that translates to in the delicate area around my peepers is a reduction in eye puffiness, discoloration, and fine lines and wrinkles. Bright eyes is the key term here, folks.

Kate Somerville Skincare Exfolikate

Of all the items in the Kate Somerville range, Exfolikate is the one that I was most excited to try. Touted as one of the most amazing exfoliators on the market, the secret is in the natural fruit enzymes that help to gently slough off dull, dead skin cells while also acting as an antiseptic that eliminates acne and pimple causing bacteria. The end result of a couple of minutes with Exfolikate is a smooth, supple, and, you guessed it, radiant complexion.

Last but not least, Hydrakate is a fine line and wrinkle busting serum, designed to give both immediate results in a slight skin tightening, and long term benefits of wrinkle reduction. Peptides and collagen builders are the secret ingredients here, folks. Specifically, moisturizing HSC Complex and Hyaluronic Acid, to counter the loss of moisturizing lipids (fats) that disappear from the skin due to harsh environmental factors and keep that moisture on the skin’s surface. Additionally, patented Leuphasyl, acts as a near-immediate wrinkle reducer, much like Botulinum Toxin (botox), but safer.

Having used the Kate Somerville products for going on a month now, I can earnestly declare that the line is truly as wonderful as everyone says it is.

Folks, am I the right on time, or tardy for the Kate Somerville party? Holler at me in the comments section!

I have been using Kate Somerville products for going on almost a year. My search for products that work great for me is over, I love her stuff. My skin feels nice and soft everyday, blemishes have been significantly reduced and my dark circles have greatly reduced. I am a fan for life and look forward to visiting the spa for a signature facial.

I love certain Kate Somerville products too, especially the ExfoliKate. Thanks for covering the CytoCell, Adina…I’d never really paid much attention to it before. It sounds really interesting! I’ll definitely have to try it now!
