In case you all haven’t received the memorandum, I am kind of obsessed with all things Diane von Furtenberg. Imagine then my excitement upon hearing that the mistress of the boldly printed, uber flattering wrap dress, has launched a collection of 20 re-issued vintage prints, in signature styles, in her new collection called DIANE.
Forty years ago, Diane von Furstenberg designed her first collection. Bold and colorful with playful prints and shapes, fashion gurus far and wide remember her trademark wrap dress and timeless silhouettes.
Forty years later, the same kaleidoscope of images popped into her head, but from a different perspective. She knew the line was classic and wanted to bring it back. It became clear to her what she needed to do. She envisioned her vintage line floating through a time machine, beautifully evolving into updated versions for the modern woman of now.
Inspired by her success in the seventies, Diane pulled twenty archived images and did a little tailoring to suit the beautifully and classically dressed women of 2011. The line is called DIANE, a collection of re-issued vintage prints in classic styles and timeless shapes, as well as updated accessories for the woman on the go. Available for purchase on www.DVF.com and DVF boutiques worldwide, DIANE debuts today, February 28. Digging into the archives of vintage prints and shapes, the collection includes updated versions of the iconic wrap dress styles as well as new fashion silhouettes. The comprehensive line also includes ready-to-wear accessories, shoes and swimwear.
From delicious patterns to sumptuous silhouettes, the DIANE collection promises it all. Where are my fellow DVF fans? I know that I love it already, but I want you all to have a look at the collection, and then share your thoughts in the comments.
