I have a strong affinity, nay, obsession with the miracle that is Yves St Laurent Mascara. A relationship forged through my beauty experimentation with Volume Effets Faux Cils Noir Radical, I am irrevocably hooked, brush, formula, and finish.
Just last year, YSL launched Mascara Singulier, a formula designed to lengthen, thicken, and curl. Already well versed in the cult of Volume Effets Faux Cils, I gave the new addition a go. At that point, lash magic happened.
The genius of Mascara Singulier is part amazing YSL formula (that is pretty much spot on identical to my beloved Volume Effets Faux Cils), and part spiraled helix brush. The brush is truly a thing of beauty, grabbing my lashes, both long and short, and not letting go until each lash is thoroughly coated. The formula has just enough wetness in it to layer beautifully, with enough stick to ensure that the formula won’t clump, cake, or flake. Like every other YSL mascara I have tried, the mascara has a lovely perfumed scent.
The obligatory action shot, isn’t it beautiful?
Oh! While we are on the subject of eye greatness, I would like to take a quick moment to highlight (haha, get it?) the wonderfulness that is the YSL Holiday 2009 Touche D’Or Golden Highlight Pen. Much like the Touche Eclat, Touche D’Or imparts both light and shine to all the right places. Touche D’Or is a gorgeous pinky gold that looks like heaven on my eyes, lips, and cheeks.
When it comes to beauty, YSL can truly do me no wrong. While the Touche D’Or was a limited edition that might not be found in stores, the Mascara Singulier is happily a permanent edition. Lovers of the fat, long, defined lashes should definitely give this baby a go.
