So, come up to the lab
And see what’s on the slab
I see you shiver, with anticip…ation
It was a dark and stormy night, the rain beating on the roof as thunder reverberated through the expansive laboratory. Clad in her labcoat and ready for anything, the scientist approached the workstation, bracing herself for the task. On one table lay a lipgloss, a cylinder housing what might be the world’s greatest lipgloss formula. On the other, a sleek, bronzed sport scar, in miniature of course. Her mission, to create a hybrid between the two seemingly unrelated items, one that would drive all beauty lovers into a frenzy. The result, the new look of Hourglass Cosmetic’s Extreme Sheen lipgloss.
Extreme- yes, but what else would you expect from an exceptional makeup brand that creates a product called Extreme Sheen? Hourglass has taken an already incredible thing- the Extreme Sheen- and has given it a new shape and face that seems to be very much inspired by a shiny metallic sports car. The tube is the same size, but with a slightly oblate, flattened body. It is understood that the new packaging is sleeker and sexier than before, with the shape being aerodynamic, and slightly reminiscent of the ultra-portable Prodigy lipglosses.
The glosses inside remain exactly the same, as there is obviously no way to improve an already perfect product. Rich but not sticky, pigmented but not over the top, these vanilla scented glosses provide nothing but high shine color that feels amazing on.
Speaking of newness, the newest shade addition to the happy family is Child, a creamy beige nude with nary a shimmer or sparkle.
Hourglass must have taken a cue from the not-so mad scientist, fusing form and function into a sleek new design for their already exceptional Extreme Sheen formula. Look for the new packaging today, at your local Sephora or Barneys store.
