I am not above admitting that I am of the nature to crave the bright, the bold, the blingy items of the beauty variety. Bringing me all of the above both readily and cheaply, Hard Candy and I have crossed paths once more, much to my delight.
Eye Def in Pool Boy is an opaque, high-impact, shimmering turquoise with golden microflecks of glitter. The feel of this gel eyeshadow is not unlike Urban Decay’s Cream shadows, which are slightly sticky when worn alone, but also ultra longwearing. The only problem is that I experienced a bit of staining, which tends to be the case with high pigment products. I definitely recommend using a base before you apply.
Pink Plumping Serum lipgloss isn’t much to write home about sadly, as it did nothing but make my lips shiny. It is touted as a plumper, though I didn’t get much plumping, or color for that matter.
Glitteratzi Glitter Gel in GoGo is surprisingly my favorite item in the test bunch, a clear gel with a dense concentration of magenta microglitter. Glitteratzi can be used on the eyes as liner or shadow, but I am kind of loving it on my lashes to give that fringe of mine some extra pop. I am not sure if these are lipsafe, but I am thinking that this particular shade will be fun on lips as well.
The verdict: For a fun, affordable line that is rather easy on the wallet, this line scratches my bold makeup itch. It is a great way for color newbies to dip their toes into the world of bold makeup, and without breaking the bank too. Hard Candy makeup is available at Wal Mart.
