Close Encounters of the Luxury Kind- Guerlain Holiday
About two hours have passed since you first encountered that flying silver disc. Having thoroughly acquainted yourself with two stunning holiday collections, you proceed to the final box, lucky number three. Opening this box reveals Guerlain’s Météorites Perles D’Or Illuminating Powder Pearls.
How apropos, for our extra terrestrial friend to spotlight this particular set, as the powder’s packaging is all sleek and silver, much like her aircraft. Even more telling is the other-worldly name, Meteorites. The miniature silver cylinder is a joy to behold, adorned with a beautiful flower and bumblebee.
Inside, and underneath a fluffy black poof is a mélange of tiny powder pearls, each radiating their own light. The bubbles are in shades of lilac, gold, and pink, and are designed to impart a soft golden glow that instantly blurs and erases imperfections.
The scent is classic Guerlain, all sweet and floral violet. You breath it all in with gusto.
At the grand reveal of this, our last luxury item, our friend has accomplished what she set out to do. She has shared with you the joy of high-end, otherworldy holiday beauty. As she leaves to go back to her spacecraft, you can’t help but think that noone will ever believe your story. All’s well that ends well though, as you now have some beautiful new items to play with, as well as a fun (if not slightly disturbing memory). You continue your trek through the chill midnight air with a smile on your face, all the way back to your uptown flat.
The Guerlain Holiday collection is currently out at all finer retail counters. For a touch of shimmering gold opulence, there is nothing in this world quite like it.
I have always LOVED the look of these but never really understood the them. I’m not even sure how to use them. Highlighter? Blush? Grab one and rub it on your eyelid? LOL
LesleyKat, I use them as a highlighter mostly. I swirl a small, dense brush in em, then tap onto the high points of my face. The color on these is pretty sheer, but I like to grab the bubbles and use them to light up my eyes as well. So pretty!
