New York Fashion Week- The Recap and Trends for Beauty

If there is one question that I keep on getting over and over again post-fashion week, it’s what are the trends? Having attended over 15 different shows, I have a few thoughts.

Here is a recap, trend summary, oh- and a fun video or two!

Contouring and Highlighting were all over the runway. Whether seen in dramatic shades of light and dark, or in the soft and subtle play of shadow and luminance.

Metallic textures and shades are going to be huge next year, as seen in many of the looks I spotted. From highlights to eye shades, metal was the buzzword nearly everywhere. Since I received many questions on the topic, I will let MAC’s own Romero explain the trend and the look, as seen backstage at Carmen Marc Valvo.

Shades of Bronze, Gold, and Orange were seen everywhere, whether it be on the model’s eyes, cheeks, or lips. Bronzer is having its moment in a big way, folks.

Smoky Eyes are always a classic, and the spring season is no exception. This year, I saw it in every variation from soft to dramatic. Which one do you prefer?

Every so often, I enter a backstage where the natural look is everywhere. Model’s are fresh-faced, and minimal makeup-ed.

Last, but most certainly not least, eye liner seems to be having its moment once more. I cannot tell a lie, this excites me to no end.

Tell me in the comments, what is your favorite look/trend? Which one are you most likely to re-create?
