Fashion Week Essentials- The Makeover Edition

If there is one thing that I have come to realize, it’s that no matter how many fashion weeks you do, it doesn’t get easier unless you make it easier. Looking to tone it down on the maintenance, I knew a few beauty lifestyle upgrades were in order.

So, it is no secret that I had a fabulous new hair cut and style to rock with pride during the week of fashion. What was severely lacking however, was the color of my mane. Having seen its last single process back in May, it was time for a much needed booster shot of pigment, and I knew just where to get it. Naturally, I turned to my gal Jan Marie at the Ted Gibson Salon in Flatiron for a fabulous shade change. I asked for jewel-toned red violet, and Jan Marie delivered all of that and then some!

For a colorist that will rock your locks, see Jan Marie at Ted Gibson by calling (212) 633-6333. She won’t do you wrong.

What’s one thing the beauty editor is constantly flashing during her jaunt at backstage reporting? Why her nails, of course. Not one to want to worry about chipping nail polish, I went ahead and treated myself to another fashion week calgel manicure. This time, an Elle inspired Magenta/Black gradation. Check the results.

These were done by Miriam at Sakura in downtown NYC, in case you were wondering. For your own calgel experience, give the salon a call at (212) 387-9161.

With a fab new hair color and some hot nails to match, I was ready to take on those tents. Stay tuned for more of my fashion-week fixer uppers.
