Backstage at New York Fashion Week- Carmen Marc Valvo

At this point in the game, many are starting to ask me what the trends are, and what my favorite look is. Well folks, this one definitely ranks up there. The look for Carmen Marc Valvo was elegant, sophisticated, and beautiful.

Led by the awesome Romero Jennings for MAC Cosmetics, the makeup team created a stunning metallic look, all light and contour with a pop of blue on the eyes.

The look was created with brand new products from MAC for spring, including Mega Metal Shadow in Dalliance, Cream Shadows, and Kissable Lip Color in uber.

Led by Devin Toth and Ted Gibson, the hair team created a retro look that was inspired by the 60’s. The idea was to achieve a look that was both young and modern, to balance out the elegance of the clothing collection. Hair was prepped with build it to give it texture, and then brought up into a high ponytail. Wrapped around itself and secured with an elastic, the chignon was polished while being slightly undone.

On the nails, a custom blend of two MAC pigments was created to form a beige nude with shimmer, shine, and full coverage.  Perhaps this custom shade will make it into a collection next year?

I think the full look was stunning, but what say you, dear readers?

Interesting! Cream shadows in a quad….so is the Mega Metal Shadow like the Metal X shadows?

Azia, the Mega Metals are actually a super fine powder, and ultra metallic. Buttery soft, and super shiny

I love the eye, but I’m really struck by whatever the woman in the last picture has on her nails. It’s like a scab, but in a good way, if that makes sense.

Hotness! I really can’t wait for all the Mega Metals Eyeshadows! I’m not crazy about the cream shadow palette for my skintone. But it would be pretty on fairer skintones!

Bridgette, stay tuned for a video to see the mega metal in action. I bet the creams aren’t a lost cause either. 🙂

Katie, you are too funny! I kind of see what you are talking about with that.
