The gilded halls were lavishly decorated, heavy red velvet curtains blocking any trace of the outside world. The young girl gazed in wonder, delight shone in her eyes as she took in the scents, sights, and sounds of Elizabeth’s court at its most resplendent. Courtiers clad in finery, all donning their elegant silk masks. It was her first Masquerade, and she could hardly contain her joy.
Evoking images of costumed courtiers and velvet-clad royals, Smashbox Masquerade is a collection worthy of gracing anyone from an eager lady-in-waiting to the most esteemed Sovereign. With rich shades and luxurious textures, Masquerade is a study in lush, elegant, Elizabethan opulence.
In true Smashbox fashion, the product lineup both entices and excites. Let’s take a look at a few of the items.
Liquid Liner and Lash Overlay in Teal is a brand new product, and one that is designed to do double duty beauty, to boot. Using the fine tipped brush deposits a line of color as thick or as thin as you want it on the lashline. A twist of the wrist reveals the fine toothed comb, for which to deposit a kiss of teal to lash tips. The shade is rich and sparkling, the perfect mix of green and blue that is oh so lovely in its opacity.
Lip Enhancing Gloss in Reveal, a glittery gold with plenty of delicious sparkle and shine. The Crown Jewels have nothing on this shade of gilt.
Liner and Gloss, Swatched
While the packaging for this collection’s eye palette seems fairly ordinary, the shadows within are anything but. These nine shades of shadow are stunning, dazzling, and decadent in there silkiness, opacity, and pigmentation. These combination of neutral and rich jewel tones practically leap off the palette, and eagerly waltz across eyelids.
While Smashbox’s fall collection is based on a flight of fantasy, an Elizabethan masquerade, the beauty of this collection is no illusion. Look for the full lineup, just launched this month online, and in stores.
